I avoided downloading this right away. I am so burnt out on Match 3 games! But I decided to give it a chance since it was listed under Time Management also. Turns out that it was very enjoyable!

It turns out that you are matching 3 or more to turn on the burners below those squares, which you need to do in order to cook the pizzas, etc., that the customers are ordering! In the "Store" you can purchase new pizza recipes, and buy upgrades to various items to help you out including a battery to turn on all the burners at once and coffee to calm down your upset customers.

I still am not sure if this is on my Must Have list, I am still pretty burnt out on Match 3s. But this is a high consideration, as the children really enjoyed it too!

Mahjong games are so peaceful. This one is no exception. Beautiful backgrounds, and tilesets, with tileset patterns that you can unlock along the way. I love the fact that there is one set of tiles that if matched end the level immediately.

Of course, they are buried at the bottom, but fun none the less! Other special tiles include wild tiles that match to any other tile. switching tiles that you can use to switch the places of two tiles, and tiles that will help you locate a match for any tile you choose.

Another Match 3. That's what I thought when I downloaded it... just another Match 3! But this is cool! It is an adventure game built on a Match 3 base. You Match 3 to build up your mana to use spells against your opponent, match skulls to deal a blow to their life force, match gold to buy better weapons and spells, match stars to gain experience.... But, there a twist. This Match 3 is set against your opponent, you take turns Matching 3. Earn extra turns four matching four or more, earn wild cards, and so much more

This is made for the older kid crowd, although my boys were intrigued at it, neither wanted to sit and watch or try it out. My daughter on the other hand is rushing to download it onto her computer!

This is the third in the Dream Day series. Robert and Jenny are moving into their first home. You choose which house they move into tho start off the game. Then you have your classic Hidden Object levels, with some really cool mini games in between levels.



We have come to enjoy Hidden Object games. They are family events for us. We love gathering around the computer together to search for just the right things. Something we can all enjoy at once!

And this game is looking to be at the top of the list for Hidden object games. The kids loved the mini games, and the pictures were fun and cheery to look for hidden objects in.

This platformer ranks as pretty fun. The family vacation is something akin to National Lampoon's , and Dad is reminiscent of Chevy Chase!

Actually, my one complaint is having to sit through the silly clips, but others might find them enjoyable. Other than that, it has become a highly requested platformer game in my house, besting Snowy Bear for the moment!

Linkit - A Christmas Carol

I was pleasantly surprised by this Match 3. It has added a twist to the game! First I want to mention that included in this game is the story "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. Not only can you read it page by page from the main menu, but each set of levels takes place at a different point in the story. You have the option of reading a short scene, and then playing the levels in the room from that scene. So the first levels have the cold office as their background, and the second set has a background of Scrooge's bedroom.

Next the shape of the playing board changes at each level, so you don't have the same simply square each time. The object is to link three tiles or more in order to remove the green squares from the board. What's neat is that you can link in every direction at the same time, so you can link around the entire board to make fantastically long chains! It is a timed game, so you do have to watch to not get carried away, but you can earn extra lives for points. This might just make a great Christmas Classic that can get resurrected every year for the Holiday season!

This game is cool! I'm listing this as an Educational Pick. I usually don't have a very high opinion of shooter games (I really don't like the violence and destruction in them), but J-Man is into shooters. And being an unschooler/ life learner, I have to trust that it contains something that he needs right now.

This shooter contains mazes that your ship travels through shooting both the enemy ships (in motion) and the gunneries (stable) on walls, floors, and ceilings, to find the vortex lid and carry it to find the vortex and seal the vortex against more incoming enemies. It's NOT a dark game, it is NOT a scary alien ship game. This is one shooter that J-man likes, Little A is not afraid of, The B can't wait to get a turn at, and Mom can approve of! I will admit secretly that I too have fun playing this shooter!

I do believe this game is going to score all the way around!

Flowery Vale is a match 3 garden fantasy where you must gather flowers for your sweetheart. Lose yourself in the stunning beauty of nature as you gather daisies, roses and more in order to decorate your girlfriend's cabin in the woods. Fill baskets with certain blossoms before time runs out, produce a set number of combos or create a certain number of explosions. Theres never a dull moment as you create botanical delights to charm your beloved.

My 7 yo son actually had a great time playing this with me. He was really disappointed when the trial ended, but not so much that it was at the top of his list!

This is your basic Hidden Object puzzle that is so popular these days. With very relaxing music and scenery, and a intriguing story to draw you in, Dream Chronicles is a wonderful way to spend a few minutes in peace.

I want to add that the boys got into this game. They enjoyed looking for things and trying to solve the puzzles with me.

Emerald Tale

This game is totally awesome! It has wonderfully relaxing music, cute little fuzzy characters, and you get to blow stuff up! That is always a plus with my boys! Collect coins, and gems as you go. Look for hidden treasure chests with lost artifacts in them. Stop and talk to other cute fuzzy characters. Keep an eye out for hidden exits to unlock secret levels too!

I'm thinking this is another MUST HAVE!

Teddy Factory

My boys are thrilled with Peter Flat. I am not entirely sure what the attraction is, but I did have fun playing it. There are a variety of puzzles to make your way through. Watch out for the bad guys! Avoid workers asking for coffee when delivering important papers. And watch out for that dog, she likes to bite. Where in my contract did it say I would make it a regular practice to jump off of tall buildings to test questionable safety devices? I don't remember anything about climbing scaffolding to deliver papers either... Hmmm Ah well, it makes for great family time for computer driven kids!

Cake Mania

Another time management game, but great fun nonetheless! Start with your tiny little cake shop, learn to bake your cakes, and upgrade your shop as you grow. I love all the different cake toppers that you can buy! And as you grow, you get to move to different locations... careful of getting sand in your cakes while you are at the beach!

This game is a blast! My kids love to play together and see how far they can get! Watch out for those asteroids. One player uses the keyboard, and one uses the mouse for simultaneous play. Can you make it out to the asteroid belt? Can you make it through the asteroid belt, and save Earth? A fantastic shooting game without any gore ...just fried drumsticks!

My kids love this game! The cute little white bear, serving customers, and best is the "Moon Shiny" song... it has inspired plenty of creative play after the computer time is over!

Unlike many of the other time management games, this one does not give you bonuses for chaining actions. I think this makes it a little bit easier for younger kids to get the hang of. The game is fun, and you earn more toys as you go, making it more interesting. In between days, you get to spiff up a basic toy however you would like. You start with a teddy bear and a doll to decorate and dress up any way you would like, and earn an egg just in time for Easter. Sell these in your shop for mega bonus money. How far can you take Sandy?

This is a great game for some family time fun! The wonderful stories were entertaining enough to keep me interested, and the puzzles were great for the kids. Talk about the ultimate in family time, or is that school time. Read those gloriously descriptive tidbits explaining each puzzle... what a way to teach Reading and Language Arts! Watch as your kids use all of those logical thinking skills trying to solve each level. Math time... I mean,

1/20/08 Just checking back in to say that we still play this game at least once a week 6 months later! It is one of our favorite family games because we can play together!

11/29/08 With all the games that have come out since, it doesn't get played every week anymore, but even as the kids grow older, they still come back to it. We are always on a search for games that we can play together, and Moorhuhn Kart 2 is perfect for that! The kids gather around the computer to start up tournament races about twice a month still! Better still, is how they join forces to make sure that both players are at the head of the pack, and beat out the computer character competition together! No one gets left behind!

1/10/2009 Just checking in! This is still one of the most played games in the house. With the faster tracks to unlock, this game still offers us a challenge. We love the tricks that you can leave on the track! And we will never tire of the ability to race together!
