Call of Atlantis

Call of Atlantis takes you on a journey of the ancient lands of the Mediterranean to find the mystical power crystals to power the machine that protects Atlantis. Solve Match three puzzles, and collect hidden objects to answer the Call of Atlantis.

Call of Atlantis is a match three puzzle with an added twist. Enjoy the creative power ups in the challenging match three boards, and then use your keen eyesight to find the pieces of the objects to release the mystical crystals. At the beginning of each level reveal an new fact about the ancient land you are now in.

Call of Atlantis is a pleasant match three game where you make matches to drop the objects out the bottom of the board. The scenes are well done, with gorgeous backgrounds that you can earn as screen savers for your computer. My daughter and i found the facts about the ancient civilizations and lands to be interesting, though the boys were more interested in moving quickly to the next round. Call of Atlantis is a nice combinations of game types, that we all found a part of to enjoy.

My Tribe

Start your own adventure on one of billions of islands in My Tribe. Set your adventurous villagers to tasks to support and grow on your new island home. Let them learn on their own and start families, and then help them to discover the mysteries of the island. Design your new village, and create a thriving, prosperous paradise with My Tribe.

My Tribe starts out by letting you choose your perfect island from among billions of choices. Next you are introduced to your tribe, and can choose who to set on which tasks. Your islanders are intelligent, and will stick to the task you put them on and continue to learn. Build huts and buildings for storage, research, even clothing design, grow your population, and explore the mysteries of your new island home.

My Tribe reminds us of the Virtual Villagers series by Last Day of Work, with a few welcome changes. Once set to a task, the villagers stick to it. Kids can be set on a task and will automatically go to it when they reach working age. Parents are not bogged down for two years with a nursing baby, but instead immediately return to work while the baby toddles around them. We also like the fact that you can research a clothing design building to change the villagers clothes! My Tribe may seem similar to one of our favorites, but I think it stands alone. It is slightly easier for the younger kids (or us busy parents!) to be able to run their own villages, without coming back to a dead village. All of my kids are really enjoying this one!

Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst ™ is the first of it's kind, I believe. With the haunting music, and creaking floorboards, my boys asked me to turn off the music so they could help me with Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst ™. This hidden object/adventure game is filled with so many twists, turns, and combinations that I had to keep going back and forth to find all the pieces. This game is definitely worth looking into!

Reach your goal to move on to the next level, and spend your earnings on upgrades to please the patients and make your job easier.

Hospital Hustle was a small distraction to my day. It was not enough of an attraction for any of the kids to take anything more than a cursory look at it though. It provides the repetition and challenge of a time management game, in a medical setting. Once you have achieved success at your first hospital, you can move over to quick play, and take care of medical hysteria in a hurry with Hospital Hustle

Daycare Nightmare: Mini-Monsters

Molly left her thriving monster daycare business behind when she moved. Now the monsters have followed Molly, thanks to a witches spell disguising their appearance, and Molly is back in the daycare business again in Daycare Nightmare: Mini-Monsters. Taking care of adorable mini monsters may sound like fun, but watch out for their special abilities if you are not quick enough on your feet. Can you survive the day in a room full of mini monsters? Find out in Daycare Nightmare: Mini-Monsters.

Daycare Nightmare: Mini-Monsters takes babysitting to a whole new level! Each type of monster has a special ability that comes out when they are upset. The vampires bite, the ghosts scare everybody, the witches randomly transport the rest of the babies... a challenge to unravel if you fall behind. Can you handle all of the mini monsters needs, and keep them happy?

Daycare Nightmare: Mini-Monsters is a follow up story from the original Daycare Nightmare. Whether a blessing or a disappointment, the game play is identical. The new characters in the story are cute, but the hectic bewilderment of letting one witch get upset makes me glad my "monsters" are really human! All the kids clamored to read the story, and hung around to ooh and aww over the monsters in Daycare Nightmare: Mini-Monsters

The levels were challenging enough that the boys wandered off, while my daughter keenly spotted objects with me. Detective Stories: Hollywood offers a variety of puzzles with a storyline to carry you along. Hot Dish 2: Cross Country Cook Off.... Just the name had me cringing. Hot Dish was a exercise in patience with this stirring difficulties I have never been able to overcome. This time I knew what to expect, and it wasn't quite as bad, although I still have not figured out how to get the spoon to stir every time. I think it may have something to do with the fact that I use a trackball mouse, and it doesn't move quite the same way. When the kids saw Hot Dish 2: Cross Country Cook Off, they cleared the room. They remembered the difficulties with Hot Dish, and no one wanted to even take a second look. Overall, I thought the game was fairly fun. I would recommend taking advantage of the trial if you are interested to make sure you don't encounter the same frustration over stirring controls!

Mystery Stories: Berlin Nights

Mystery Stories: Berlin Nights  Could it be that a machine to end the world's energy problems was designed and built a century ago?! Archeologists have found a a century old generator that might do just that in Mystery Stories: Berlin Nights. Michelle Deanfield, a journalist, unravels clues surrounding the missing pieces of the generator with the help of a German engineer. Can they find the missing pieces of the generator, and stop the efforts of an ominous sect of  ex-KGB agents?

Mystery Stories: Berlin Nights gives you the option to play through the story at a relaxed pace, or in heart pounding madness to beat the clock. Through various types of hidden object puzzles, Mystery Stories: Berlin Nights tells the story from the perspective of Michelle. Look for bears of all types on every level to replenish your hint and bonus supplies.

Mystery Stories: Berlin Nights had an interesting story, that played quite nicely, but did not attract any of the kids. Even finding bears could not hold their attention. The occasional mini game broke up the hidden object levels; and the word monotonous keeps creeping into my mind, even though there were a variety of types of hidden object games. There were find the object by the sound it makes, from the list, decipher the clue given, find the pieces to preform an action with them.... Mystery Stories: Berlin Nights still did not make it onto our list of great games.

Bubble Town's cute, friendly scenes drew the boys in. They had a great time making character voices, and announcing the action. I really enjoyed the plunger bonus ball; I found it a useful way to clear a multitude of lumps in one swipe! After each tube of borbs is emptied, the play area is reduced in some manner before a new tube full of borbs appeared.  Although the friendly scenes and cute borbs of Bubble Town drew the boys in at first, they eventually wandered off to play Elf Bowling on their computer.

Build some of the world's most beautiful and well known structures as you play through 7 Wonders: Treasures of Seven! Match colorful runes and drop blocks for the workers to gather. Rotate the board to move the keystone into place to unlock each level.  7 Wonders: Treasures of Seven is full of challenging puzzles, and friendly scenes to pass your time.

7 Wonders: Treasures of Seven has some unique features for a match three game. Matching larger numbers will allow you to earn bonus to use on the board like the ice bonus that will clear a row, and the fire bonus that clears a row and column. The ability to rotate the board allows you to strategize and plan out your moves to the best advantage. 7 Wonders: Treasures of Seven is full of friendly scenes and interesting facts about the structures you are building. The illusion of night and day is even created as you work, and the menu show an estimation of the "years" each project took you.

I really enjoyed playing 7 Wonders: Treasures of Seven. The boys sat by my side watching the cute scene at the bottom of the screen of the workers coming out to gather the blocks that had fallen from the board. It was amusing to see a female character enter the screen when the workers were lazing around waiting for more blocks to get! I found the ability to rotate the board a fun and useful way to accomplish each level of 7 Wonders: Treasures of Seven. I even tried out the shuffle as an easy way to get out of tough spots.
