Airport Mania: First Flight puts you in control of an ever growing fleet of friendly little planes at your local airport. You will be flying high as you direct the airport traffic is this time management game. Buckle up and prepare for excitement as you direct traffic, buy upgrades, and even add a splash of color in Airport Mania: First Flight!

“Buy it! Buy it!” Oh the sad faces as the trial on this game ended. Airport Mania: First Flight had the entire family gathered around the computer. It is not often that you can find anything that will keep everyone involved for an entire hour. Airport Mania: First Flight's friendly faced planes are cute enough to warm your heart and make you smile even on a chilly, rainy day when you are stuck inside.

In this adorable time management game, you control the planes as they land, unload, get repaired, refuel, load and take off! Buy upgrades in between days at the store. Add an extra waiting space, a faster gate building, a painting space to change the planes colors, or an in flight movie to keep the planes happy while they are in the air. Match plane colors to the gates for color bonuses, and earn landing or launching bonuses by lining the planes up at the same runway one after another.

This is one of those games that is easy enough for the younger kids to play.. my son was 5 when he first played this. Even so, it is the teenager who was excited to see it being bought, and I agree with her! What a fantastic game to play by yourself, or with your kids! And, YES, I did buy it to add to our collection of family friendly computer games!

Can You See What I See? Dream Machine

Can You See What I See? Dream Machine

Clyde Curfuffle is asking for your help again in Can You See What I See? Dream Machine. It is his twin niece and nephew's birthday tomorrow, and he has promised them each something special. He has planned to gift them beloved toys from his own childhood, but has put them somewhere to keep them safe, and forgotten where that is. Use the dream machine to help solve the riddle and find the lost toys in Can You See What I See? Dream Machine.

Can You See What I See? Dream Machine sets you at the dream machine to start your task. Choose a scene and find all the cleverly hidden objects. You can zoom in on each quarter of the scene to get a better look. After finding all the pieces, find the special object in the scene. next you will be led to a couple of variating puzzles to be solved to acquire a dream object. With the dream objects, you will be able to solve a portion of the puzzle and find a missing segment of the dream machine instructions that you will need for the final scene.

Can You See What I See? Dream Machine is a challenging hidden object game full of cute scenes and objects. I was again frustrated by the lack of instructions at he beginning of the game, and had to try several different buttons before I found which one would start the game sequence once at the dream machine. Can You See What I See? Dream Machine only attracted the faintest of interest from the kids....I have to wonder if new Christmas presents are affecting their normal interests! :-)

Solve perplexing puzzles using objects you have found. Gather the tarot cards to read your own fortune to know what to expect as you proceed.
A few hints to help you as you start The Tarot's Misfortune. You  may need to proceed into side rooms to gather objects that are needed to solve puzzles in other places. Find all of the objects on the list to have the useful items become available for your use. The scenes were beautiful and well done, and the game play was engaging. The boys were not interested in The Tarot's Misfortune, but I had a hard to me closing it down. Over all, this is a family friendly game that is perhaps aimed at a slightly older audience.

The boys were not so interested in this game. I found this a game that was hard to put down, and easy to get lost in. Ancient Rome

Ancient Rome

It is your job to set up cities and start providing the supplies that the citizens of Ancient Rome need to expand the empire. As you learn to produce more goods, you will attract new citizens to be trained. Meet your goals and you will be rewarded with your own land and materials to build your house among the nobles. Make a name for yourself and get noticed by the emperor of Ancient Rome. Ancient Rome is a strategy time management game that will put you to the test with it's fast pace. Learn to build increasingly valuable homes and set up production lines for food and clothing. Meet early deadlines to be rewarded with extra valuable materials for building your home. As you build up your career, the emperor will assign you more and more difficult tasks. See how high you can climb the ladder to success within the ancient Roman empire!
I found
Ancient Rome to be a nice game, albeit a little simplistic for my tastes. The boys were intrigued by the flurry of activity on the screen, but until they understand the concept of production lines, I think this game might be just beyond them. I found it important to remember to start my water production immediately upon beginning each new level, and then look at my goals for that level. All in all, I really liked Ancient Rome
for older kids through adults, and teaching kids some simple city management skills.

Epic Adventures: La Jangada

Epic Adventures: La Jangada

Epic Adventures: La Jangada takes you back in time to the end of the 19th century to take part in a story based on the Jules Verne novel, 'La Jangada'. Help Minah as she searches for clues to unravel the past of her father and save him from a death at the gallows. Gather the evidence that is scattered across the Jangada as is floats along the Amazon. Discover the truth and save Joam Dacosta with this hidden object adventure.

Epic Adventures: La Jangada
Epic Adventures: La Jangada is a wonderful game that pulls you into the storyline with beautiful images and words. You are greeted by Minha as you open the game, and she remains the narrator of the story throughout. Use you keen eyesight to follow through her story, as you find hidden objects to relate to each part. Solve intriguing puzzles as you help her to puzzle out the mysetry of what her father's past contains, and what evidence will save him.

The first thing I encountered upon starting Epic Adventures: La Jangada was a place to insert my name, but it could only be five letters long. I loved the fact that Minah narrated her story, but I had to adjust the sound effects and music to be quieter so that I could hear her voice. After playing through several beautiful levels, the soundtrack suddenly glitched and there was a obnoxious ticking noise for the rest of the game. Although there is no innapprpriate content, the boys were not intersted in the storyline. Despite these small drawbacks, I thoroughly enjoyed playing Epic Adventures: La Jangada.

Sarah Maribu and the Lost World

Sarah Maribu and the Lost World
Sarah Maribu and the Lost World

In Sarah Maribu and the Lost World, Sarah's grandfather had told her about an uncharted island. She and her husband, Michael, set off on a wild adventure. Shortly after arriving, Michael goes missing. Track down who grabbed him, and collect treasures along the way as you explore this hidden object world.

Sarah Maribu and the Lost WorldSarah Maribu and the Lost World opens to gorgeous scenes with cleverly hidden objects. Among the things hidden are the tools needed to solve the puzzle to get to the next room. The boys loved the fact that the list of objects to find were actually pictures. The object pictures were in cubes that would turn to reveal a new object until the objects on all sides had been found. I thought this was a clever way to control the order that hidden items could be searched for. The storyline and the graphics of Sarah Maribu and the Lost World are family friendly and provides a pleasant distraction.

Evoly

Evoly

Evoly combines the fun of match three with the creativity of creature creating. Earn money as you clear the boards in the puzzle rounds, then travel to the planet to populate it with plants and creatures. Further along in the game you will inlock the ability to upgrade your creatures, giving you the ability to create hundreds of unique species. Bring the barren environments of several choices of planets back to thriving life in Evoly.

Evoly
The match three puzzle boards of Evoly are split up by the fun of designing and evolving the creatures and habitats of barren worlds. Populate the planets with plants and creatures purchased with the money you earn from making matches. Raise unique plants and creatures as you work through the levels. Bring life back to frozen and desert planets too.

Evoly did not draw anyone's attention. The first hour of play did not bring about the chance to even buy creatures for the first planet.  Although there may have been directions somewhere that I missed seeing them, they were not integrated into the play. The match three part of the game was self explanatory, but travel to the planet to buy things to start to populate it was guess work on my part. Add to the lack of user friendly instructions, the simplicity of the drawings, and Evoly is a decent run of the mill game.

Shaman Odyssey: Tropic Adventure

Shaman Odyssey: Tropic Adventure

Living on the beautiful tropical island of Laguna might not be as simple as it seems. As shaman of your tribe in Shaman Odyssey: Tropic Adventure, the spirits have summoned you to bring your people back together after many long years apart. It's up to you to drive off the sharks, fight off the pirates, and keep your people safe and happy. Will you be able to reunite your people and create a safe place for them to live?
Shaman Odyssey: Tropic Adventure
Shaman Odyssey: Tropic Adventure
is a time management game that will have you running around the island picking up seashells, herbs, and other resources, as you create a safe haven for the split apart members of your tribe. Bring them back together by solving their problems. Collect resources to build wood cutters, totems, gardens, and more to build a better home for your people to keep them happy.

The happy, bouncy music of Shaman Odyssey: Tropic Adventure brought the boys in to see what this game was about, and the colorful characters kept them drawn to the screen. They had a great time pointing out resources that were ready to be collected, and islanders that were not happy. Shaman Odyssey: Tropic Adventure is a time management game that can easily be added to your family friendly library of computer games!
