The scenes of Little Folk of Faery were a bit dark, but mostly in the way of the areas being run down and needing to be fixed up. In this strategy game, you will need to practice patience as the characters learn new things, and work on the assigned quests. The game will continue to run even when shut down if you set it to. You can change the game speed as well. The boys were not as interested in this particular game. I found the game play to be very slow, but I can see the long term potential of enjoyment. If you like the idea of building a tribe, or restoring a village, and have a love of faery creatures, Little Folk of Faery is a perfect game.

Switch between scenes with pictures of the objects you must find, and lists of objects to locate. A rechargeable hint is available if you get stuck. 


The scenes of Island: The Lost Medallion were well done. I loved the way the water moved in wanes in the static pictures. The boys were not interested in this hidden object game, so I was left to find all the objects myself this time! Island: The Lost Medallion sets up the storyline with one hidden object scene after another, leading you easily through the story.

I was really surprised when Dark Parables: Curse of Briar Rose brought the boys to the computer. Although the scenes were fairly dark on my computer monitor, the music was hauntingly enticing, the boys were extremely interested in both the game play and the story line. I was quite enchanted with the game myself.Dark Parables: Curse of Briar Rose is wonderfully interactive with clues of where to search, and a recharging hint to move through the levels. The scenes depicted within the game play offer small details that really bring the story to life and engage you in it. I highly recommend this hidden object adventure game as an enthralling way to escape from everyday life.

  Farm Mania 2 brought the boys to the computer with it's family friendly scenes and cheery music. They loved playing look out and pointing out any bunnies and crows that were creeping in to destroy the crops. The game play slowly got harder as the levels went, and allowed for you to easily go back to any level. Farm Mania 2 was a great way to spend a bit of time with my boys, and a relaxing way to play on the farm and stay clean!

Along the way you will meet all the familiar characters from this classic tale including the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, and the Mad Hatter.

  Alice in Wonderland brought the boys to the computer to help look for the hidden objects and solve the puzzles, but did not hold their interest for long as the scenes were imaginatively frightening and the music was a bit creepy. Personally, I found myself commenting that this is the stuff of my nightmares, but Modern Gothic is not to my tastes. If you enjoy this style, then check out Alice in Wonderland for a wonderful hidden object adventure full of creative and imaginative style.

  Treasure Seekers: Follow the Ghosts did not really interest the boys. Although it is a family friendly game, it is a bit dark for our tastes. It did not detract from the game play though, and I did enjoy the challenge of finding the objects and solving the puzzles as the story unfolded.

  Architect: Episode 1 is similar to the Build-a-lot series in that you are constructing towns. Relax and enjoy this game since the time limits are removed, and the game is more of a puzzle to solve than a time to beat. Architect: Episode 1 did not really interest the boys as it was not such an action based game. I enjoyed the strategic planning and testing of placements that this game allowed for, and found it much more engaging than the time management versions of city building games. By the way, it does offer an advanced mode if you need even more of a challenge!

Scarlett has decided to buy an arctic farm in Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age. Travel with her to the North Pole to see the farm she purchased from an ad in the newspaper. Meet some of the locals who ask for your help, as you care for penguins, gather products and learn a few new skills like making ice cream. Take a break from your busy day and chill with Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age.  

May be it wasn't the best idea to purchase the farm through the newspaper without looking at it, but it's up to you to figure out how to turn a profit with what you have in Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age. Fend off your livestock, made up of mostly penguins, from the bears that wander across your farm. Breed penguins, and gather their eggs and other products and use them to produce the usual items.

  Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age is another great Farm Frenzy time management game. The boys came to admire the penguins, and watch for bears while I played... patiently waiting to ask when they could get a turn. Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age brings back the same familiar game play, but running a little smoother this time. The bears are slightly easier to catch, and they don't move faster than you can anymore! The music, sound effects , and the graphics are the friendly high quality that we are used to. This is definitely a new favorite in our house, and is being recommended as a must have for everyone who loves time management games.
